IBS Syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome affects millions of Americans, many of them not even realizing that the symptoms they feel are not normal. Some suffer from severe constipation, while others deal with diarrhea. Other symptoms are gas and bloating. According to the Mayo Clinic, as many as 1 in 5 adults has irritable bowel syndrome.
IBS is a disease that can easily be misdiagnosed because there currently is no laboratory test or imaging test that doctors can use to help diagnose it. IBS symptoms are the main driver for diagnosis and this makes a doctor's task more difficult since the disease shares so many characteristics with other illnesses. IBS is often mistaken for a number of other diseases including infectious diseases, parasites, food allergies, or lactose intolerance. IBS symptoms also closely mimic the symptoms of a patient with celiac disease.
Spastic colon specifically refers to the muscles in the small and large intestines and how they can contract uncontrollably, leading to cramps and diarrhea or constipation. Imagine your hand opening and closing quickly and without your control, and you have an idea of how spastic colon works. The condition keeps the intestine and the bowels from properly working, leaving the sufferer feeling bloated, weak and otherwise miserable.
Doctors really don't know what causes IBS, but some suspect that IBS may be stress related. When you have IBS the nerves and muscles in the bowel seem to be extra sensitive. The muscles may contract to much when you eat causing pain. These contractions may cause diarrhea while eating or shortly after.
Your Doctor may suspect that you have IBS due to your symtoms. There are specific symptoms that a doctor will look for which is called the "Rome Criteria". Your doctor may order other medical tests to be sure that you don't have another health problem that causes the same symptoms. To diagnose IBS you may be asked to take some blood tests and a physical exam. Some other tests that may be included are a Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) Series, which x-rays your abdomen to see any problems in the Large Intestine. Another test is a Colonoscopy, which is when the doctor inserts a tiny camera into your colon to take pictures to see if there are any problems there.

is this a good camera? *link*?
I'm taking Photography 1 this upcoming year and i need a "35mm SLR camera"
I was looking to buy one on ebay because its cheaper
so i was wondering if this camera is recommendable
http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-EOS-Elan-II-35mm-SLR-Film-Camera-Body-MINT-/170678947578?pt=Film_Cameras&hash=item27bd420efa
if anyone knows where to get a 35mm SLR camera for cheap, please do tell me where
Thanks:)
There is a reason why eBay and Pawn Shops or Craigslist is cheaper. Most of the cameras sold at these venues do not work properly. Why? Because there are people who want to make a buck off someone who doesn't know any better as well as just people who themselves don't know any better and try to get top dollar for a broken camera that's been sitting in their dirty closet for years.
Cameras require maintenance. As they sit unused, the internals gum up with old oil, fungus can grow on glass, batteries leak acid, light seals fall apart. The average person knows nothing of this. If the camera looks good on the outside and seems to work for the most part for a couple clicks, they think it's in "mint condition" and they want a ton of money for it. These same people probably don't have very good return policies, if any.
And then there's you. You are not a camera repair tech. You may have never even touched a 35mm SLR before. So how many rolls of film do you think you'll have to buy, process, view and study before you find out that there is something wrong with the camera which is going to cost a lot of money to fix while you have a photo assignment due in a few days?
Do the proper thing. Prepare yourself properly and buy a quality camera from a quality vendor instead of some sketchy guy selling them out of the back of his truck!
Buy a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm lens or Nikon FM with 50mm lens from KEH.com, CollectibleCameras.com, Adorama.com or CameraRepair.com. These guys cost from about $150 up, depending on cosmetic condition. It's totally okay to buy the cheapest one. They usually are not as ugly as they describe them. Just be sure not to order one with any defects that affect image quality (which will be listed.) If these are too much money, you may be able to find a Nikkormat FTn or FT2 with 50mm lens for less than $100 on the sites suggested.
You'll be buying a camera that can be returned (KEH.com has a 6 MONTH return policy now!) if defective or not to your liking. You'll be buying a camera that can be exchanged for another if there is a problem. You'll be buying a camera that, if you decide you enjoy shooting, will probably work for the rest of your life and certainly get you through photo 101.
Good luck!
