What Kids' Toys Will Be Hot This Year?
Christmas can regularly be a difficult period for parents, who are often trying to balance bills and personal finances with buying gifts for the family. To hopefully help out with getting those gifts for the kids, here's an early warning of what could end up being the hottest toys of 2010.
With the whole of the UK coming off the back of one of the worst recessions in its history, personal spending has dropped dramatically as people are being more careful with their money. Many of the top toys of 2010 will likely reflect this, with many RRP's being set at less than £50. That should improve the situation for a lot of parents, as hopefully they'll be able to afford some of the most in-demand Christmas presents of 2010.
This years top toys, as with many previous years, are likely to include characters from the most popular film and TV shows in the country, as well as some old favourites.
For presents for young boys, you should be trying to find out which characters from mainsteam media have become most popular. Toy Story, Shrek and Transformers will all be good bets for boys, with Toy Story 3's Buzz Lightyear almost certain to be extremely popular. You can probably expect a surge in popularity for toys based around the Transformers films (and games), or any toy that is in a similar vein. With the release of Shrek 4 this year, any toys based on characters from the film are also likely to be very popular Christmas gifts for him or her.
Remote controlled cars, tanks and helicopters are also set to be hugely popular this year, with RC helicopters in particular seeing a surge in popularity.
As for young girls, I would look at popular children's shows such as Peppa Pig, who do a good job making toys that fit the popular show. Likely to reach a similar level of popularity are brands such as Bratz (hugely popular in 2009), Dora the Explorer and the seemingly ever popular Hannah Montana.
Sylvanian Families have been popular in previous years, and it's likely that they'll be a hit with young girls this year as well. If you have a child that is slightly older, the Kidizoom Camera or GOGO Hamster both look like being extremely popular, and either would make a great Christmas gift for her.
Miley Cyrus’ Laundromat Photo Shoot (Gossip Girls)
Making the most of washing her clothes, Miley Cyrus did a photo shoot at a
local laundromat this week.
The “Hannah Montana” babe and some of her gal pals got camera-ready and fired
off some digital shots while their clothes were washing and drying.
Cyrus made sure everyone knew it wasn’t just a staged thing- she tweeted, “It
may look like a Photoshopped, but we were legit doing laundry.”
As for the recent rumors that she’d had a breast augmentation surgery, Miley
wrote, “Thank you for the compliment but these babies are all mine. I wish
they’d realize you don’t have to be fake to be beautiful!”
