What to Look for in a Digital Camera
Since Christmas isn't far away the time is here once again to start to think about gift buying. Digital cameras will be a favourite gift item as their prices have fallen dramatically in recent years. But if you are shopping for a digital camera do you know what features to look out for?
You probably already know that a good quality lens is as important in a digital camera as it is in an analogue one. You are probably also aware of megapixels and how the higher the number means a crisper image.
But what about image stabilization technology. This is the clever way that modern cameras can compensate for low light conditions, where higher exposure times are needed, and wobbly hands.
Another potentially useful feature is auto face detection and auto focus capability. Facial recognition technology is great for point and shoot photographers. Ideal for those who like simple point and click cameras.
A good zoom is another feature to look out for. You will find that some cameras use a digital zoom and others use an optical. Optical is generally much sharper than digital zoom which will simply make the digital image larger and more grainy.
Battery life is another important feature to consider. I recommend selecting a camera that uses rechargeble batteries.
Look out for additional features like the ability to change lenses, image effects and built in image editing capabilities.
It's also worth looking at the suite of software applications that come with the camera package. Most modern digital cameras come with a bunch of applications for processing and editing images.
Something extra to consider when buying a new camera is some affordable camera insurance. Today's lightweight digital cameras are easily lost, stolen or damaged so its worth spending a little money to ensure that your camera is quickly replaced in these circumstances.
In addition you may like to consider gadget insurance to protect valuable portable devices including laptop insurance for valuable laptop computers.

I have a samsung tocco lite. When taking photos the instruction is to turn the mob anti-clockwise and click the camera key. The image takes up the whole screen. When I come to look at the photos in the file, they are not full screen and there is no need to turn the camera anti-clockwise. They are narrow with space above and below the photo. There is a zoom in/out to view the photo but this does not make it full screen, it only brings the photo nearer but cuts off each side.
when viewing them on the mobile. I haven't uploaded them to computer yet but it's when you come to show friends, you need a magnifying glass to see them
View the file where on the camera or on your computer.
it shouldn't make any difference if you are putting them onto your computer just use you software to crop off the white bitsr
