The Genuine Marine Digital Camera
The people that use genuine marine digital cameras are those where it is usually used in the course of their work as these cameras are very expensive Studying the life below the surface, a marine camera is only normally within the realm of marine biologists and other nautical scientists Waterproofing a camera is not an easy thing to do so many, so called, marine cameras aren't really designed for that type of work
Buying one of those marine digital cameras isn't really likely but you could buy one of the cheaper options if you are only going below the surface for a short while and not to deep.
There aren't that many manufacturers of these specialist cameras owing to the problem of water ingress into the cameras case and the pressure they have to work under. Some of you may have seen or tried the cheap solution to this problem that comes in the form of a plastic casing. This type of casing will turn your conventional digital camera into an marine digital camera.
If you are shooting with your marine digital camera, you need to take note of a few things to help you come up with the best underwater images.
The water has a strange effect on light as I am sure you have experienced from time to time; it is called diffusion and the deeper you dive the more this distortion takes place. direct result of diffusion; a problem that can be overcome by changing the white balance settings. This diffusion effect also magnifies the image to give the impression the zoom function was used. To ensure the correct image will be taken you will have to pay a little more attention to the shot you are taking.
It is a good idea to make sure that the camera won't leak whilst you are diving so just hold it under the water for a few seconds to be on the safe side. which will allow water to access the case so look for this as well. It is also advisable to put a silica gel pack or two inside the case of your marine digital camera as long as they don't disturb the camera's operation.
Optional lenses are often available so if you can add these to your marine digital camera then do so. It is possible to get really close to some subject for great close-up shots using a macro lens.
Also, remember to always wash of salt when you've used it under salt water because if the salts are not washed off, in time they will crystallize; and cause leaks in your camera case. It is not uncommon to experience the odd grain of sand getting into the case which will cause problems later on so rinse the case with a flow of clean water.
What brand of digital camera would you recommend?
I'm thinking about buying a digital camera on black friday and here is some information I want included in the digital camera:
I want the color to be purple or lavender, the price to be at least $120.00, and for it to have a good quality in taking pictures and recording videos.
Those are the main point I'm looking for.
Just paste the link if you can.
Thanks,in advance.
Edit: Did I say at least $120.00? What I meant was the highest price I'm willing to buy a digital camera is $120.00.
Probably, Sony if you want the best quality at a cheap price. Sometimes, it varies on different prices.
Or Kodak. You need to real look at your local sales papers and then go around for the best bargain.
