A Guide to Professional Styles and Techniques in the Art of Digital Wedding Photography
Everyone can feel sentimental at times and when this happens, people often enjoy looking through albums full of good memories for them.
One of the moments that most people would really love to preserve is the type of events on their wedding day.
For this reason, people even decide to hire professional photographers to capture the important moments of their lives. Depending on the photographer’s style, they may not have people pose in traditional wedding positions. They are expected to wait patiently to be able to catch memorable portraits. Many photographers will has an assistant help them at the wedding and they will work to provide the client with professional and long lasting photographed memories for many years to come.
What if you would also want to use your digital camera to take pictures of a friend’s wedding?
Here are a few basic techniques and styles for anyone who wants to capture the said event using a digital camera:
1. If you want to take a picture of a couple or any intended target, make sure that the background is good and the environment is not so crowded.
2. Once you have a good background, you can take several pictures in different ways, such as from the shoulders up vs. always entire body shots.
3. Next you need to consider the people in the picture, to make sure you get them at their best, for instance, if someone is wearing glasses have them move their head slightly so the flash will not reflect off them. 5. Make use of the zoom features on the camera, to include or exclude certain areas or people in the picture. 5. You must not shoot a couple or any guest against the light so that dark images will not appear. 6. Taking several candid shots are fun and make great memories for the couple too. These portraits reveal more than the quality of the picture itself. They are a wonderful way to show the couple afterwards how the people enjoyed their wedding day and reception. 7. You should be alert at all times since you can seldom ask individuals to pose again for you.
8. Make sure you have all the supplies and back-up supplies you need for your digital camera so you don’t miss a great shot just because you memory card gets full.
In other words, you have to have an extra memory card especially when you want to preserve more moments on film. There are several memory cards you can purchase and here are some you may want to consider:
a. Use a 256 memory card for 3 mega pixels b. For 4 mega pixels - a 512 MB memory card c. For 6 mega pixels - 1 gigabyte memory card
9. Make sure to use high resolutions for pictures that will be printed up and displayed by the couple or guests.
By using high resolution on the pictures taken, the couple can have the photographs enlarged and the image will not be distorted.
10. Keep a copy of your best works so you can use and reuse the techniques that made your viewers smile and appreciate your creation more.
You can do this by saving albums on your personal computer to free up the space in your memory card. There are software programs available that you can use to make a good picture even better.
Wedding Digital Photography is truly a wonderful art. One that is a great way to capture the cherished moments of a wedding. Taking professional digital photographs at a wedding will help the couple and family members enjoy these sentimental memories for many years to come. If you enjoy taking digital pictures and have a good camera to do so, then your efforts will be a part a peoples lives for many generations.
