RAW vs JPEG on Canon EOS Rebel XTi dSLR?
Are there any types of editing that can be done to RAW files that can't be done to a JPEG?
All the same types of editing can be done to JPEG but the fact that you will have to save/compress the file again to obtain your final image results in a poorer quality final image, right?
Is the only advantage with saving your photos as RAW the fact that it's not a lossy format to begin with? Or are there some stuff you can do to RAW that you can't with JPEG images?
Actually it is quite different what you can do in the Sense that the results will be completely different. I recommend you get yourself Adobe Lightroom 2.5 and try editing a Jpeg vs RAW and you will see the results and possibilities is completely different in favor of RAW
