WhiteClouds

The WhiteClouds are a mountain range in Central Idaho with peaks in the 10,000ft range.  It is an epic place to hike as the views are spectacular.  We chose a smaller hike, one that went only 1.3 miles in distance but gained over 1500ft in elevation.  It was a rather steep grade up the side of a mountain above a hot spring and an abandoned mine.  Once we got to Hoodoo Lake, we found ourselves alone, save for a pair of ducks.  The area is known for bighorn sheep and other animals but the weather had drove them down into the canyons below.  We were hot, then cold, then hailed on, and finally the skies lightened up and the weather became more favorable.  The color of the lake changed many times with the light and it made for a memorable hike.
